Scope of the license

CC BY 4.0 applies to the protectable expression in the documentation only to the extent that the named licensor has authority to license that material. Third-party material, quotations, diagrams, marks, or other content governed separately are excluded to the extent required by their applicable rights or terms.

The license permits copying, redistribution, and adaptation of the licensed documentation, including for commercial purposes, subject to the conditions of CC BY 4.0. Users must provide attribution, link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made. No additional restriction is created by this attribution guidance beyond the applicable license terms.

Attribution and License, Scope of the license

Required distinctions

1. Authorship of text and terminological fixation

The author identification records authorship and provenance of the documented formulation, specification text, terminology framework, and publication package. It identifies the source from which later citations and adaptations can derive.

It does not assert that authorship of the text creates exclusive ownership of every underlying idea, commercial method, transaction pattern, or business model described in the work.

2. Provenance

The project history, PTKR records, Git commits, dates, repository metadata, ORCID, DOI, and SHA-256 hashes are intended to provide a traceable provenance chain for the documented formulation. They support identification, integrity verification, versioning, and citation.

Provenance evidence does not by itself determine the legal ownership, protectability, validity, or enforceability of every claimed right.

3. Licensing of documentation

CC BY 4.0 is the license for the published documentation. It governs reuse of licensed material; it is not a mechanism for granting exclusive rights in the abstract PRISM Commerce idea or business model.

The license notice applies only to material the licensor has authority to license and does not override separately controlled material. Jurisdiction-specific legal review may be appropriate for particular uses or adaptations.

4. Possible trademark rights

The names PRISM, PRISM Commerce, logos, visual identities, certification marks, or other source identifiers may be subject to separate trademark or unfair-competition rules. CC BY 4.0 does not automatically grant trademark rights, endorsement, certification, or permission to imply affiliation.

No statement in this publication asserts that PRISM Commerce is registered, legally clear, or exclusively owned as a trademark. Trademark clearance and any future trademark policy are separate workstreams.
